Many of the youth are involved in drugs and alcohol and this is something that needs to be discussed this topic has become taboo in the community and this has not been a conversation that has been had in our community. Parents need to start talking to their children regarding this topic and youth need to learn how to comfortably be able to talk to their parents about this topic.

Many educational materials in local languages are often out of date or not geared toward the BIPOC community. We work with the community to make sure all information received is culturally competent. We Advocate for the Somali community to push for more discussions of addiction. Cultural stigma adds challenges to addressing the growing health crisis.
